Svitlana Yarosh

Svitlana Yarosh / Sveta Yarosh (born in Dnipro, Ukraine on 16 January 1986) is a musician, singer, composer, music teacher, lead singer and the head of the music group "Sangam".

Svitlana studied Indian music in India from Master Prasad Khaparde in 2008 and 2011.

She has been teaching Indian music in Ukraine since 2008.

Svitlana began studying music at an early age. She graduated from school of music with a specialization in guitar and vocal performance. While studying, she was a recipient of multiple awards in city and state singing contests and festivals.

In 2008 she graduated from the Finance Academy with a Master's degree in Finance.

In 2011 she graduated from M.I. Glinka Dnepropetrovsk Conservatory, where she obtained her degree in the Department of Folk Instruments.

Svitlana’s interest peaked in Indian music when she started practicing Sahaja yoga meditation in 2001.

In 2003 Svitlana became the lead singer and the head of the music group "Sangam". The repertoire of "Sangam" is based on Indian classical compositions and folk melodies in various musical arrangements, songs in Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrit.

From 2003 till 2018 the "Sangam" band was taking part in many state ethno-festivals ("Siaivo", "Slavic Zen", "Dvara", "Tanabata", "Surya Namaskar", "Sozvezdiye Vostoka" etc.). Annually, the group tours with independent concerts around cities of Ukraine.

In January-February 2016 Svitlana participated in the concert tour "YogDhara" in 30 cities across India as a lead singer of an international music group.

Svitlana has been married since 2006, and has two children.
