Irina Pazinenko

Pazinenko Irina Vladimirovna was born on September 28, 1976 in a small town in the Poltava region, Ukraine. In 1993 graduated with honors from the gymnasium, in the same year entered the sociology department of Kharkov State University, which she successfully graduated in 1998. In parallel with studying at school and university, she is actively interested in music, she graduated from music school in piano class, participates in many vocal ensembles and musical groups. In 1998, after receiving a sociologist's diploma, he moved to Kiev, to devote herself not to sociology, but to music. At this time Irina and Nikolay Pazinenko (by that time they were spouses) created a music group "DNA" that played in the style of underground rock and actively performed at various venues in Kiev. They themselves were the authors of the songs, have recorded several tracks in the studio, twice became participants of the teleproject "Resheto". In 2000, Irina and Nikolai became acquainted with the philosophy of Sahaja Yoga, which radically changes not only the style of their music, but the attitude to life. Rock music no longer has a key influence on their creativity. Gradually the musicians get acquainted with the depth of Indian classical and spiritual music. In 2006, Irina first went to India to study Indian vocal. She takes lessons from Prasad Khaparde, a famous performer of Indian ragas, a disciple of Ustad Rashid Khan. Irina learns the art of performing ragas and bhajans, slokas and mantras. Her teachers and guides in these arts, along with Prasad Khaparde, also were Surekha Apte (the wife of Dr. Arun Apte, who studied the influence of raga on human health, the author of the method "Omkar Method" and books on music therapy), Prajakta Dhayade (soloist of bhajan- groups from the city of Pune, Maharashtra). For several years Irina has been visiting India to study Indian music. After returning back to Ukraine, she begins to transfer the knowledge to those who are also interested in this topic. Becomes a permanent participant of various musical events, festivals, numerous concerts both in Ukraine and abroad (Denmark, Italy, Georgia, Moldova). Irina and Nikolay also continue their own musical experiments, successfully compiling knowledge of Indian music and a sense of style in contemporary Western music. Two author's projects are born from this symbiosis: the "Dvija" group (performing author's Russian and Ukrainian-language compositions in the style of indie-folk) and the band "Ganapati Express" (songs in Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit in modern fusion style). Now Irina Pazinenko continues her work as an author, performer, musician, teacher of Indian vocals and music therapist. She is a participant of the project "Indian Cultural Center at the Embassy of India in Ukraine". Also she conducts master classes and trainings on meditation in Sahaja Yoga and vocal therapy.
