Sergei Mikhailovich was born on May 22, 1959 in Severouralsk. From the very childhood Sergey's main hobby was music with which he decided to permanently bind his life and in 1977 entered the music school in the city of Asbest, in the class of studying the game on percussion instruments. Even while studying, Sergei began to play in the Pulsar group, with which he left for Ukraine after graduation. In 1991, Sergei joined Sahaja Yoga Foundation, which became his first and fateful acquaintance with Indian culture. Over time, he is getting interested in Indian classical music and is really enjoying playing the classical instrument - tabla. Without a teacher, Sergei learns the basics of the game on his own. After one of the performances as a musician at the evening of Indian culture, he was invited by Mrs. Nirmala Shrivastava to study at the Academy of Fine Arts and Music by Mrs. Nirmala Shrivastava, where he successfully completed his studies in 1999.
After coming back from India, Sergei initiates creation of the 'Heavenly River' group, which later became one of the most popular groups of classical music and was recognized in such countries as Italy, Austria, Germany, Turkey, China, etc. At the moment, the band released several of their CDs including 'Light' and 'Living Water'.
In addition to participating in the band's life, Sergei is a solo artist and has performed at various international festivals and concerts, and has also played with famous classical Indian music artists such as Bhadzhan Sopori, Alexander Lee, Simple Sharma and others.
At the moment, Sergei continues to spread Indian culture around the world, gives solo concerts, and with pleasure teaches everyone who wants to join the incredible music of India.
